The Voluntary Action Center (VAC) has been in operation since
1971, and seeks to meet community needs with volunteers.
The purpose of the VAC is to serve as
- a catalyst or agent for volunteer
oppotrunities throughout Midland County. VAC recruits, interviews,
and matches volunteers for over 130 local nonprofit organizations,
schools, businesses, service clubs, etc.
- an advocate for
volunteerism.
- a resource for training of volunteer
administrators for coordinators VAC offers technical assistance
and consultation to nonprofit organizations, schools, businesses,
service clubs, and faith-based organizations for development
and implementation of volunteer programs.
There are many ways that you can volunteer, such as
- mentoring a child
- driving area residents to kidney dialysis
- providing office support for local nonprofit organizations
- tutoring
- visiting a homebound senior
- sharing a talent or skill
Volunteer when you can, and choose your level of commitment. You can participate
in:
- One time events
- Seasonal Opportunities
- On going projects
